How Much Does a Lake Como Proposal Cost in 2026?
Planning a proposal in Lake Como and wondering how much you should budget?
The truth is that a Lake Como proposal can cost anywhere from a few hundred euros to several thousand, depending on the experience you want to create.
Some couples choose a simple proposal during a romantic walk through Bellagio, while others dream of arriving by private boat, surrounded by flowers, live music and a professional photo and video team.
In this guide, I’ll break down the real costs of planning a proposal in Lake Como and share what most couples actually spend.

What Is the Average Cost of a Lake Como Proposal?
Most couples typically invest:
€450 — €800
For a simple and elegant proposal experience with professional photography.
€1,000 — €2,000
For a proposal including a private boat, flowers or additional services.
€2,500+
For a luxury proposal experience with boat rental, florals, live music, videography and exclusive locations.
The good news? There is no right or wrong budget. Some of the most emotional proposals I’ve photographed were also the simplest.
Proposal Photography
Professional photography is usually the foundation of every proposal.
My packages in Lake Como are betweem:
€300 — €815+
depending on the duration and experience.
Photography doesn’t just mean beautiful images afterwards. A good proposal photographer will often help with:
✓ Choosing the best location
✓ Timing the proposal
✓ Avoiding crowds
✓ Planning the surprise
✓ Creating a backup plan in case of weather issues
Private Boat Proposal Costs
A private boat proposal is one of the most popular experiences on Lake Como.
Traditional wooden boats typically start from:
€400 per hour
Luxury boats and premium experiences can cost significantly more depending on the season and provider.
Many couples choose a 2-hour experience to enjoy:
✓ The proposal itself
✓ A relaxed boat ride
✓ Engagement photos around the lake
✓ Multiple locations
For my clients, drone photography is complimentary for all boat proposal experiences of 2 hours or longer (weather and flight conditions permitting).
Flower Costs
Flowers can completely transform a proposal experience.
Simple Bouquet
From €150
Perfect for presenting after the proposal or incorporating into your photos.
Floral Setup
From €500
This can include:
✓ Ground arrangements
✓ Floral arches
✓ Decorative installations
✓ Luxury proposal setups
The final investment depends on the design, flowers and location.
Live Music
Adding live music is one of the easiest ways to create an unforgettable atmosphere.
Professional Violinist
From €400
A violinist can perform your partner’s favourite song, create a romantic atmosphere and make the moment feel truly cinematic.
Videography
Photos capture a moment. Video captures the emotion.
Professional videography typically starts from:
€400 per hour
Many couples choose to add video coverage to capture:
✓ The proposal itself
✓ Reactions and emotions
✓ Scenic footage of Lake Como
✓ A highlight film to share with family and friends
Content Creator
A growing trend in 2026 is hiring a content creator alongside traditional photography.
Content Creation
From €250 per hour
Content creators focus on:
✓ Vertical videos
✓ Instagram Reels
✓ TikTok-style content
✓ Behind-the-scenes moments
Many couples love receiving smartphone content within hours of the proposal.

Drone Photography
Drone footage offers a completely different perspective of your proposal.
Drone Photography
From €200 per flight
Drone coverage can capture:
✓ The boat from above
✓ The scale of Lake Como
✓ Waterfront locations
✓ Cinematic aerial views
For boat proposals lasting 2 hours or longer, I include drone photography complimentary whenever conditions allow.

Questions and answers
How can I book a shoot?
Booking is simple! Just send me a message, and we’ll agree on a date and time for your photoshoot. I will then send you a contract to secure your booking. A deposit of 50% is required to confirm your reservation.
Once the contract is signed and the deposit is paid, we can start planning your shoot in detail. The remaining balance is due before the session.
I operate an official business in Italy and provide a formal invoice for every service.
Can I cancel or reschedule a shoot?
Rescheduling is possible up to 24 hours before the scheduled shoot and only in case of bad weather. Please contact me as soon as possible to arrange a new date.
If you need to cancel, please note that the deposit is non-refundable.
I strive to make the process smooth and clear, so we can ensure your photoshoot goes perfectly.
Do you help with planning a proposal?
I absolutely assist with everything related to the photoshoot: timing, location recommendations, and shoot planning. I’m also happy to share contacts of trusted vendors around Lake Como and Milan.
However, if you’re looking for help with planning the entire experience—such as choosing and booking a location within your budget, arranging a boat, makeup artist, florist, musicians, or a restaurant for a post-shoot dinner—you might consider our additional planning and coordination service provided by my team.
Do I need any permits for photoshoots in Lake Como?
Quite often, yes. Many private villas, gardens, and boat services—particularly in the Lake Como area—require advance permission for photography. Please be aware that a photography permit for the Villa Balbianello starts from 400 euros, for the Villa Monstero from 300 euros, and from the Villa Melzi from 420 euros; these permits are not included in my photography fees and must be arranged by a client. Since the most sought-after locations fill up fast, it’s always best to arrange access well ahead of time.
What time of the day is best for photos?
The most flattering light usually happens shortly after sunrise or just before sunset. Because lighting shifts quickly here, choosing the right moment can transform photos from simply beautiful into truly striking, editorial-quality imagery.
What happens if it rains?
Weather here can shift unexpectedly, so there’s no need to worry. I always prepare a backup option—this could be a sheltered location, an alternative spot, or an adjusted schedule—so we can still create beautiful images regardless of conditions.
Can our photos be private?
As the photographer, I retain full copyright to the images and reserve the right to use them in my portfolio, website, and social media.
If you prefer to keep your photos completely private and not shared publicly, a 50% privacy fee applies. Please let me know in advance if you would like to add this option to your booking.
